After a long day of school work or just existing, there are not many things that are more satisfying than a relaxing sheet mask. Let me tell you why this one should be on your holy grail relaxation list.
For me, sheet masks are something special and I use them only before special occasions or when I really want to treat myself to something. Getting your hands on good sheet masks without paying a hefty sum is rather difficult in my hometown. Maybe this is also the reason why I am rather critical when trying a sheet mask for the first time: If you spend a lot of money on something you want it to be perfect, right?
Do you have a big sheet mask stash or are you a little Gollum like me, treating each beauty product like it is the One Ring? – Sorry for me geeking out for a moment there –
Rather than claiming to have mind blowing skincare effects, this mask is something you use to come down at the end of your day – a product to soothe skin and soul.
Varzio Real Nature Moisture Mask Sheet – Acai Berry Lifting Ice Cold Mask
We constantly search for sheet masks with the perfect effects, making our skin prettier or smoother or more beautiful. But sometimes we forget that we also need relaxation and the time for ourselves that come with sheet masking. This is one of those masks that reminds me of taking care of myself and just spending a few minutes doing nothing but thinking about my life and all the things going on.
So maybe this is not so much a mask that soothes the skin but rather a sheet that soothes the soul.
Water: Water is the most important skin component and our human body mostly consists of water. It is also the most common ingredient in cosmetic products. To be honest it does not have that many positive effects on our skin in our skincare products. I made a game out of it: Whenever the main ingredient of any skincare item I use is water, I drink a cup of water. This way, the product really hydrates my skin. It is used to eliminate the hardness, minerals and to avoid product contamination. And to stretch out some of the products.
Butylene Glycol: is a solvent with awesome antimicrobial action, which is an agent that kills microorganisms and is often used against bacteria.
It also masks odour and serves as a humectant.

Finding the ingredient list was a bit of a hassle, but I did find it and linked it from beauteque
How to use it:
As with every mask you use it after cleansing and toning and then apply it to your face. You leave the mask on for fifteen to twenty minutes and after finishing you pat in the excess moisture with gentle tabbing motions.
You can take the essence that is left and apply it on your neck and arms.
What it claims to do:
- Soothing addition to your skincare routine
- Hypoallergenic mask sheet made of cell-fabric closely adheres to the face to for the best results

What it really does:
I want to start with the mask sheet. I probably mentioned that my small face and sheet masks do not really work well if combined most of the time, but this sheet really was the most pleasant surprise I have had the whole week:
The sheet is really thin and you might think that it would rip easily, but when tugging on it with not a small amount of force it only stretched without ripping. The shape is on the rounder side but adjusts to the form of your face and fits snugly without feeling uncomfortable.
The initial feeling when applying the mask is cooling and the essence makes the skin tingle a bit in the first few minutes. After that you can feel the moisture seeping into your face and leaving the mask sheet and with time the sheet gets dryer while the moisture gets absorbed by the skin.
I left it on for about thirteen minutes, which is a bit shorter than recommended but the sheet felt dry and I got the feeling that my skin would not absorb any more moisture than the amount it already did.
After that I wrung out the cotton sheet and even though it did feel dry, there was a surprisingly large amount of essence left that could be used for the rest of my body.
Con 1: Well, except for the fact that it does not have extraordinary skincare benefits that I know of, I cannot see any negative aspects this mask might have.
Pro 1: The mask is cooling even without putting it in the fridge and the effect is strengthened by a quick extra cooling period in the refrigerator.
Pro 2: It is so calming and relaxing. There may not be any miraculous skincare wonders happening, but I have not felt so relaxed in what feels like forever.
Just to make you realise how much I like the Varzio Real Nature Moisture Mask Sheet: I never buy masks because they are expensive as fluff and even if they are not, shipping and customs would do the deed – BUT I looked this up on Amazon and did put it on my Wishlist, seriously contemplating on spending heavy money on a few sheet mask that make me happy.
If you are stressed and looking for something to soothe your mind or get some down time while still working, this is the perfect product.
I love reviewing holy grails, because it means I get to tell you about products that are definitely worth buying and because I get to try wonderful products. Hehe.
This is my first five out of five in a while and I am really happy to call the Varzio Real Nature Moisture Mask Sheet my new holy grail sheet mask.
I am sorry that I did not upload a review last week. I got stuck in a bit of a slump and I am still trying to drag myself out of there. But the day I upload the review should be Black Day or the day after that – So happy Black Day all you singles out there! 😉
